Description
Early fall brings a subtle change to the whitetail woods. Summer greens begin to fade, antlers are hard, and bucks start settling into the patterns that will carry them toward the rut. “Brassica Buck” captures a mature whitetail stepping through a lush brassica plot, alert and confident against the first hints of autumn color.
I painted the foreground with loose, expressive color to add some interest and keep the attention on the buck. While most of my art is centered on the rut, this one celebrates that short stretch of the season when the woods are still green, the evenings are getting cooler, and anticipation for fall is building.
