Wildlife Artist Ryan Kirby

I'm honored to have been chosen as the the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition's 2023 Featured Artist.

Each February, tens of thousands of wildlife enthusiasts flock to the coastal city of Charleston, SC, for SEWE to celebrate wildlife and the great outdoors through fine art, live entertainment and special events. SEWE curates an annual collection of fine art from the nation's most talented wildlife painters and sculptors, selecting one individual to recognize as the Featured Artist.

As Featured Artist, I’ve been chosen to represent the rich culture of the show and create the focal point piece that embodies the spirit of SEWE. I’ve exhibited there for nine years now, and in that time I’ve seen some tremendously talented artists take the stage as Featured. Now that it’s my turn, I intend to work very hard and bring my best work to the 2023 show.

Each year, SEWE announces a featured painting to be auctioned off at Thursday night's VIP Gala at the Charleston Place Hotel. "The Departure" is my 48"x36" original oil on canvas painting for this year's event. Learn more about how this piece was created in my blog Facts of a Feature.
