Description
One year in Wyoming, a couple buddies and I had chased a big herd around a North facing slope for days. The timber was thick and dark, with blowdowns everywhere. We had a couple close calls, but we could never get close enough for an arrow. One afternoon I took some photos of the scene with my iPhone as reference, and when I I got back to my studio painted this scene for the Southeastern Wildlife Expo. I envisioned a big herd bull busting out the back side of the dark timber with his cows, probably spooked by a couple dudes from the Midwest who were trying too hard!
