Description
I hunted rabbits in the Midwest when I was a kid, but rarely did we have good dogs. Sometimes a buddy or a neighbor would have a solo beagle that could work. Often times we walked brushy hedgerows and just tried to kick them out on our own. When I moved to the South, I learned there was a fine art to rabbit hunting that I’d never known about. When I moved to the mountains of Western Carolina, I saw it at a whole new level.
Guys would accumulate a whole pack of beagles, taking them out to run the Christmas tree fields and briar patches as often as possible. It’s a lot of fun, and a great way to get the kids outdoors as well. So for SEWE 2023, I painted this beagle in hot pursuit of a cottontail in a scene that could very well be right out the back door of my studio, and it sold before the show even opened.
Unframed canvas prints will be rolled up and shipped in our custom shipping triangles. Your local frame shop can handle the stretching and framing of your choice. Our gallery wrapped and framed options will arrive ready to hang on the wall with hanging hardware pre-installed.
